TGCDT November 2020 Blog Hop - Beautiful Boho Indigo
It's time once again for the monthly Gentlemen Crafters Design Team Blog Hop. The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team (#TGCDT) are a group of male crafters & Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world, that love to share our creative side with you on the 2nd Friday of each month. Be sure to visit all the presenters in this month's hop - links can be found at the bottom of this post.
For this month's projects I decided to go back to the Annual Catalogue and have some fun with the "BOHO Indigo Product Medley". This set has everything you could possibly need to create with, including a wonderful stamp set, dies, designer papers, embossed papers, die cut shapes, tags and images with gold embossing, two different ribbons and sweet little flower sequins with beads. All you need are card bases and adhesives. You can find tons of ideas and projects by searching Pintrest or Google for "BOHO Indigo".
What I want to share with you today are a couple simple designs using styles that I have been playing with A LOT lately. First, I have taken a liking to wider boarders on my card mattes. Someone told me it was a picture frame border - about 1/4" on all sides, maybe 3/8" in some cases - certainly more than the standard 1/8". I like this because it lets the card base colour show a little more. The second style is taking these smaller than normal matte layers and bumping them up on dimensionals on the card front so that they appear more as a floating focal point all on their own. I very often do this with designer paper.
The other day I was watching a friend in Edmonton craft on her FB live, and she did both of these in one card, but then added another twist that I just love - rounded corners! So I'm going to show you all THREE in one fun card design using this beautiful suite.
Important Measurements
- - Card Base: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"
- - Front and Inside mattes: 3-3/4" x 5
- - Designer Paper: 3-3/4" x 1-1/4"
